Bingo

Online bingo is great for adults seeking a non-threatening, welcoming environment to play in. Many offer new players introductory bonuses and free games. All want you to join them, and they are all easy to join. You could just pick one, or join several - the choice is yours.

Chat rooms have become the absolute equivalent of socialising in a bingo hall - with the added advantage that there is no closing time and no travel times. Plus of course, playing bingo keeps your mind active, and whilst younger people are quicker, older adults are more accurate – so they get to shout BINGO more often - is shout the right term for online bingo? You bet it is 'cos you will be just as involved as if it were a real life bingo hall! The thing with bingo, is it is a fast game compared with say chess or trivial pursuit, so the mind concentrates, then relaxes, and the adult social interaction then happens.

Did you know that until 1968, you could not play national bingo in the UK? Until then it was illegal to play a national game! Did you also know that until 2003, no-one in the UK could play on-line UK bingo, because no sites existed!

Now more than 3 million adults in the UK play every week, and the majority are women.

One site tells us that famous names such as Bill Clinton, Elle MacPherson, Damon Hill and Jade Jagger are regular players of the game. To avid players, it is not the glitz and glamour of the game that is so appealing; it is rather the warm, social aspect that seems to fire the hearts of bingo players around the world. For regular players, it is a safe opportunity to socialise, have fun and experience the thrill of gambling whilst being surrounded and protected by a friendly atmosphere.

Believe it or not, the government love bingo! Why? Well they take an estimated 115 million pound a year in tax revenue from it!

Once the national game was legalised in 1968, bingo took off in a big way, and by the mid 70’s, its popularity was at its peak. Then the telly took over and kept adults at home. This continued throughout the 80’s. Then the 90’s arrived, as did investment in new halls and systems, and the trend began to reverse.

There is nowadays a swing towards a modern bingo speak, and people are looking to replacing things like 21 being the key of the door, with modern phrases. At this point there is no full house yet, but we will endeavour to keep you up to date. So here we go with all the choices of bingo, online bingo, home bingo, what are the bingo rules with these establishments? What are bingo scratch cards all about?
